Sunday School / Bible Study / Camp Fowler
An important part of our church life, Christian Education programs offer opportunities for all to grow in the knowledge of the Word of God.
The Sunday School provides Christian education programs for all interested school age students. Regular Sunday morning classes are held from September-May for children and teens from pre-K (age 3+) thru 8th grade. In addition, special classes and youth group activities are available for junior/senior high students. Administration and teaching is provided by a dedicated staff of church members and volunteers.
On Sunday mornings, the children and congregation together attend the start of worship in the sanctuary. After the Children’s Sermon, students and teachers depart to their Sunday School classes which are held in the adjoining Christian Education Building.
Currently, the Sunday School is using the Workshop Zone program, ” a Bible-story driven curriculum that taps in to the way kids love to learn. The fun, discovery-based activities are designed to enrich each lesson and lead kids to synthesize and apply God’s Word to their lives.” ( from Welcome to Workshop Zone at davidccook.com)
The Sunday School staff and children support various mission projects. Recently, the Sunday School has helped support a missionary project for a local church in Sudan and contributed to the International Heifer Project.

Confirmation Classes are held beginning in early spring and culminating with a special Sunday Worship service welcoming members of the Confirmation Class into the membership of the Church.
For adults, small group Bible study classes are offered on weekdays and during special seasons of the church year. Our most active class meets on Thursday mornings during the spring and fall, using devotional material as a basis for study and discussion.
The Reformed Dutch Church of Claverack is a sponsoring church for Camp Fowler, a Christian summer camp located in the lower Adirondacks in northern New York State. The church encourages young people to attend the summer camp and extends scholarships to help defray the associated costs.
Many members of our church family are actively involved in the Fowler mission. They serve on the Board of Directors, help with building construction, and work as camp counselors during the summer months. Over the years, many children and young adults from the congregation have broadened their faith through their time at Camp Fowler.
