The Reformed Dutch Church of Claverack invites the public to join us in celebrating the “old Claverack Church” sanctuary’s 250th anniversary on the weekend of November 4th and 5th, with the following events:
On Saturday, November 4, 2017, public tours of the historic church and its graveyard will take place in the morning and afternoon, free of charge, at the following times:
10:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. – Tour and stories of the church sanctuary led by church elders Glenn Holzhauer and Lloyd Lawrence
10:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. – Tour of the church graveyard led by Historian Sal Cozzolino and Ted Hilscher, Associate Professor of History at Columbia Greene Community College
On Sunday, November 5, 2017, the day’s events start with a 10 a.m. worship service led by the Reverend Dr. Gregg A. Mast, President Emeritus of New Brunswick Theological Seminary. At 11:30 a.m., a potluck brunch will take place in the C.E. Building’s Fellowship Hall, followed by a 1:00 p.m. program of the sanctuary’s history presented by various speakers, including Rusell Gastro, archivist of the Reformed Church in America.
